چکیده

The adhesive bonding technique is employed from the aeronautical/aerospace industry to current house products. To comply with requirements of distinct applications, different joint configurations are available designer. While single-lap joints (SLJ) most common in application and research, double-lap joints, scarf T-joints find specific applications. seldom studied literature, but these used, for instance, aircraft bond stiffener beams skin, or cars between B-pillar rocker. Due high stress concentrations, often fail under average stresses much lower than strengths, giving rise necessity proper design strength improvement methodologies. This work initially aims validate cohesive zone modelling (CZM) experiments, then use it numerically evaluate optimize performance subjected peel loads. CZM nowadays regarded as powerful prediction tool can be a valuable improve T-joints. Different features addressed complete analysis: type, geometrical parameters, dual-adhesive improvement, composite joints. evaluated parameters base adherend thickness (a), T-part (t), overlap length (l) curvature radius (r). As result this work, model was successfully validated, clear guidelines were provided define ideal geometric material (adhesive) conditions best performance.

Reliability of Anisotropic Conductive Adhesive Joints in Electronic Packaging Applications

New interconnection materials are always necessary as a result of evolving packaging technologies and increasing performance and environmental demands on electronic systems. In particular, anisotropic conductive adhesives (ACAs) have gained popularity as a potential replacement for solder interconnects. Despite numerous benefits, ACA-type packages pose several reliability problems. During the l...

Design for Production: Concepts and Applications

Design for production (DFP) refers to methods that evaluate manufacturing system performance as a function of product design variables. DFP can lead a product development team to consider changing the product design to avoid problems or improve profitability. In addition, DFP can provoke suggestions to improve the manufacturing system. This paper describes the DFP approach and discusses applica...

Moisture absorption-desorption effects in adhesive joints

This paper presents a study of moisture absorption-desorption effects in single lap adhesive joints. Experiments were carried out to characterise the moisture uptake of the single part epoxide adhesive, FM73. Tensile testing of single lap joints manufactured from aluminium alloy 2024 T3 and O and FM73 adhesive was carried out after the joints were exposed to different conditioning environments....

Advances in Numerical Modelling of Adhesive Joints

The analysis of adhesively bonded joints started in 1938 with the closed-form model of Volkersen. The equilibrium equation of a single lap joint led to a simple governing differential equation with a simple algebraic equation. However, if there is yielding of the adhesive and/or the adherends and substantial peeling is present, a more complex model is necessary. The more complete is an analysis...
